Academia:
Partev received three certificates in the two-year program for Analog Electronics, Communications Electronics and Digital Electronics from the Electronics Department (1998), six Certificates of Completion in Computer Drafting from the Industrial Arts Department (1995 to 2003), a two-year Certificate of Achievement in Electronic Music from the Music Department (2006) and an Associate in Science Degree in Electronics from the Electronics Department (2006), all from Los Angeles Pierce College in Woodland Hills, California.
Hanging Out Among, 'the Brain Wave Crowd' (though I'm not one myself):
Is a member of the Oughtred Society (a society of Slide Rule and Slide Rule math enthusiasts and collectors), Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) and the Audio Engineering Society (AES). Is a user of the software synthesizers Reason for recording with and Csound, which he uses to create synthesizer patches for sampling and modeling simulations, and is a subscribing member and sometimes contributor to the e-group of the Csound Users Group.
Partev likes to go to the U.K. and visit The Centre for Digital Music at Queen Mary University London (QMUL) in Mile End. Headed by Mark Sandler and lecturer Josh Reiss. It's where fascinating research into electronic and digital music is being done. And speaking of London, Partev is totally potty about London Theatre and the London Theatre scene, and tries to catch some London theatre whenever he's there. It's the best.
